This story, "The Martyrdom of Andy", we felt was necessary to include in the Pastor's Corner section of this website, because it poignantly illustrates the kind of isolation and ostracism that brain injury survivors and caregivers often experience even by the pious and the well-meaning individuals in churches and various social circles. Now the subject of this story is not about a brain injured boy. Instead, he is just poor and disadvantaged, but the parallels to the experiences of those in the brain injured community are staggeringly similar. It is our hope that you will gain some empathic understanding. Please read on. We are certain you will be both challenged and edified.
